If there’s any of these reviews that you should just completely ignore—or not even bother reading, for that matter—it’s this one. I stopped in at Los Gatos Brewing Company after having watch a preseason Cleveland Browns game in a nearby town with the Bay Area Browns Backers. I’d already had some food and beers, so I wasn’t looking to consume all that much. So as it was, I only had one glass of one beer; I didn’t have any food or sample any others.
My only impressions of the place are thus completely superficial. It seemed a bit pompous – a bit full of itself for a brewery. It is undeniably beautiful and attractive inside. However, the food and prices are off the chart, though perhaps they’re allowed to be due to amazing quality. The one beer I had didn’t seem all that great, but perhaps I got the wrong one. And finally, the only glassware they had for sale was this giant, crystal-looking ridiculous monstrosity. Anywhere that sells that crap and not simple pint glasses deserves to be ridiculed at least a little.
For anyone in Ohio who is familiar with Easton or Legacy Village, or with northern Indianapolis’ Clay Terrace, this brewpub is in Los Gatos, which is Northern California’s version. What does this mean? It’s upscale and expensive, even for Northern California standards. That being said, this brewpub is classy and elegant—the type of place you would take a date for an up-class meal or celebration. The place is simply gorgeous… but should a brewpub be gorgeous?
I did not get a chance to eat here because I was saving my appetite for a meal at the nearby Double D’s Sports Grille to watch a Browns preseason game with the Bay Area Browns Backers! I did try the beer, however, which does not disappoint. Although there isn’t anything inherently amazing about it, there is absolutely nothing to complain about, either.
