This isn’t going to be a fair review.

On our last day in Denver – a full day with nowhere to stay because our flight didn’t leave until 11:58 pm – my wife and I decided to give some legalized marijuana a try. We grabbed some gummies from a local store, popped one in each, and headed to an art gallery.pb2

About a half-hour later, feeling pretty mellow but not really any different, we each took a second piece. It was a mistake.

We both spent the next, oh, seven hours being completely miserable. I felt like I had low blood sugar even though I’d eaten plenty. All I wanted to do was close my eyes and lay down, but without a hotel room, we were stuck moving from place to place, staring at each other in mutual silence.

But we still had to be somewhere, so we figured we’d hit up Prost. Even feeling as bad as we did, it was still a pretty decent stop. I liked the simple setup of the taproom, with plenty of Bavarian flags and long German-style tables.

pb3While I do appreciate German beers, I just wasn’t into much of anything at the time. Their wares were clean, crisp, and well-executed, but I struggled to get through a flight. On another day, I may have loved the place. But on that day, I merely tolerated it.
